8C twenty was created by Skinner
before I put the 20 away after the trip home from Santa Margarita thought I would try the Killefer disk that The 20 was originally used with in a small orchard where I got it.
The 1932 tractor and Vintage disc make a nice team. SkinnerĀ

Nice looking pare. I see you still have the turn bar for making right hand turns with the disc. But I do not see any of the accouterments on the disc to close it with a chain or cable to the turn bar on the tractor.

I never used a Kilifer disc enough to remember what parts are needed. But still good you have the disc that was used with the tractor when new.

Thanks Ray54
I have never used a turn bar but I guess set up right should work good. This disc also has a lever up front to open or close the disc just need the rope to the tractor. I need put a rope on it and pull the swing pins on the drawbar and try it some more.

Nice pair Jon Mark. I am sorry I did not get to see them in person and say hello as well. I sneaked in and out pretty quick this year. I did get to visit with Lester B. for a few minutes.
Until the next show... JM

Yes a rope to the trip latch was always needed. Some latches worked well if oiled often other you kind of hoped and prayed until you got it locked in which ever notch you wanted.

I can see enough of your turn bar that it has the circle with a slot drop a piece of chain thru. Then you could adjust it to how much it closed the disc on the right hand turn, one link at a time. But I don't see any pullies the cable would run across to get the leverage to pull the back gang of the disc to the front. I have had operator manual for a John Deere 1200 disc and I believe it had all the picture of how to set it up to use a right hand turn bar on a crawler. I think I know where that book is but it has a ton of my wife's school teaching materials in front of my stuff.

Several of the disc's here had all chain with no cable. Another was cable with 2 foot or so of chain on the end to adjust the length. Some farmer where always used the turn bar others had remove the turn bar and just always turned left.
