Hello again folks… the RD-6 project turned into quite the adventure since the last time I was in here, currently stripped down to nothing in my shop in order to access the transmission. Need to replace all bearings while I’m in there, especially the rear pinion bearing. Anyway, I ended up pulling the main clutch only to discover the frictions were on their last hopes and prayers, and the center bearing had NEVER been greased. Ill upload photos asap, my real question: Is the center bearing designed to be changed? Or are you supposed to get a whole new clutch? It appears to be riveted together, so i assume not.. so if anyone has a good one for sale, let me know. I’m going to try general gear. If that doesn’t work, I’ll probably take it apart the hard way and figure out how to make it work. If I go that route, does anyone have the specs for lining thickness? I assume it isn’t real thick, maybe 3/16 per side?
Thanks C.R.
