you would not need a fan, I would guess a water to water HX like on a boat, it wouldn't last more than a few minutes on land

Gold mining in Hope, AK in 78-79, we had a flood that was about to take out the $million$ sluice box. Tracks were totally underwater and every time I'd pick the blade up on the D8K the nose would drop into the water and the fan blades would spit cold glacier run off back and hit me on the right side and drowned the seat
- talk about shrinkage..The boss said to loosen the fan belts and push as much of the breached material down stream as I could with each pass. With that much water behind the blade pushing the D8K had no lack of power and I could push mountains..

Hi, Fat Dan.
Similar job but without the cold - we used two D8Hs side by side in a railway cutting with a 34 foot floor to push 3 feet of rainwater up stream about 300 feet to mouth of the cutting - blades just clear of the floor, 3rd gear and GO, back down into the cutting and do it all again. Didn't take long.

From this pic I build mij model.
Find the name of the dozer quite remarkable because the Hon-Maru was the aircraft carrier that attacked Pearl Harbor in WW2.
