I have the seperator disc here with a failed centre bearing (operator didn't know about the greaser), it hasn't damaged the steel disc but the shields are ovalled out and the centre-splined looks like it has spun some in the bearing.
Is the bearing a sealed type, or open race? Will it cross ref to a non-genuine?

Anyway, does anyone have the parts book page with these parts?

Thanks

Richard

The shields just direct and fling away the excess grease that pushes out of the bearing when it gets greased so that it doesn’t get into the gripping surfaces of the clutch. They also hold in place the felt and cork gaskets. If the center of them are egged out too much, set them onto a brass block and build them back up with a wire feed welder a few small spurts at a time (the weld won’t stick to the brass) and grind the excess off and shape them back with your favorite air tool. Turn the welder down enough so you don’t blow holes through them since they’re relatively thin. If you’re not an avid welder, find a piece of scrap the same thickness and get the settings dialed in on that first. I just went through all this on my 8U D6. If it is the same setup and parts numbers as the 8U (I don’t have the parts book in front of me or I would look) the roller and race were still available new from Cat a couple months ago because that’s where I got them. It was disappointing to see the roller bearing marked “made in China” on the Caterpillar box it came in but it is what it is.....the clutch lining segments were not available aftermarket. If you need them, Cat also carries them still, but hang onto your wallet......cost me over $850 for the set!
