most of the truckers i been around lately can barely speak english and can barely communicate with each other either. if it weren't for gps they would be useless. i only hope they can read road singes. the truckers of yesterday were a unique set of men and the code they shared.

Oh the good ole days! man I miss them! No American hero's left anymore, just a bunch of pansies and steering wheel attendants. Some more good ole boys were Frank Converse and Claude Akins in "Movin On"

Three years ago an idiot driver that could not read English ran into some stopped traffic just west of Denver. His brakes had failed and he didn't know what the runaway ramps were for nor could he read the signs to put the 18 wheeler in low gear because of the steep grade. He plowed into the stopped vehicles doing 85 mph, killed 4 and injured many more. The jury gave him 110 years in prison but the Governor commuted the sentence to only 10 years for vehicular homicide. Gives one pause to think these folks are even on the road.

I heard about that, that ten years is a slap on the wrist! I believe in the western days when a man was hanged just for stealing a horse. Criminals have it way to easy these days. Clean out the prisons and send them all to Afghanistan or Russia, let them shoot and murder other criminals over there.

cw mccall was in convoy wasnt he? "this here's the rubber duck"
dad came across a bloke how couldnt speak english he had his wife in the cab to do the paperwork.
another one asked him about where the handle for winding up the landing legs was, no one had told him it might be on the other side of the trailer.
another one was the the poor bugger couldn't get the rear trailer brakes to release as the last time they had been split the air taps on the back of the front trailer had been turned off he hadnt been shown to check there (the yard drivers don't always remember to turn them back on after recouping the trailers). its also a common issue the hoses work loose on the barb fittings and come off its a easy fix cut off the damaged bit and refit with a new hose clamp
