I recently bought a 2 ton tractor. Serial number 76668. Can anyone tell me what year it is? Also the clutch will not disengage. It seems the lineage is working and it feels like it’s working the pressure plate. Any information would be helpful.

That would be a 1928 year.

I have had the nut that holds the clutch on the trani shaft loose it cotter pin and jamb itself against the flywheel and make the clutch act like it is stuck before. Other possibilities are the clutch plates are stuck together, it is a multi plate clutch, the pilot bearing could be bad, etc. It is not to bad to get into, a copy of the owners manual is a great help on any repairs on a 2Ton.
Thanks
Ken

Thanks Ken, So I pulled the top cover off and on of and I have the same issue. The cotter pin sheared off and the nut backed off. The bolt is stripped and the nut will not thread back on. Do I have to pull the engine to get the clutch off to replace the bolt?

In the Technical Library on this website there is a copy of the owners manual. It does a much better job a telling how to get to what you need than I can. Pages 58, 59, 60. Yes there is a way to do it with out removing the engine. If you do not have access to the library I can scan mine and post them but it would be a few days before I can do it.
Thanks

Congrats on getting it out and good luck. I need to do the brake bands on mine, I just need to talk myself into it.
Thanks
