Hi just joined the site. And just bought a 955h 77a231. Can someone tell me the year and I am finding it very hard to find a manual with that serial number, is that because it is produced for Australia. Or are there other serial numbers that would be fairly close, like a 60a.
Thanks

Hi and welcome.
Your 1965 77A231 would be equivalent to a US 1965 60A s/n between 60A9567 and 60A11931.

Thanks old magnet,
Bought it with a sump full of water, turned out to be a welch plug or I think in America it is refered to as a freeze plug in the top back of the head. Although it still started and ran good.

now there is 3 books for most models, the owners book or OMI, the serviceman's reference(workshop manual) and the parts book the parts book and service book are the most handy particularly the parts book. the dealers can help if you have a part number to start with.
