D6 8U/9U Glow plug conversion harness

Hello all-

My D6 8U was converted over to electric start some years ago after the pony engine blew up. The downside of converting to 24V electric start has been starting a cold engine.  I’m not in arctic weather, either. I’m in the middle of California, but in these winters, we’ve always had to use ether. I am careful when I’m in the seat and I only use a touch of it, but its still not what I want to be doing.

I bought a set of new pre-combustion chambers made for glow plugs that fit the D318, and brand new glow plugs (3H2033). Where I am having trouble is finding the correct wire harness that snaps onto the glow plugs (like a set of spark plug wire would). I was hoping someone else on here has experience converting one or knows what series of machine we could try to source a harness from that would work.

Thanks!

It might be difficult to find the genuine D318 harness. You might consider using a glow plug harness from a 3306. They are available from Cat, I had to replace the harness on my D6C a few years ago.  I’ll look and see if I can get you parts # for both harnesses.
