2022 National,,, Could an Administrator post the thread here in the "Discussion" section please? Many of us gravitate to this section, rather than peruse the entire Forum...
Thank you from JM.

Hi Juiceman,
Thanks for your note, while I can appreciate your want to have this in the discussion tab of the forum it was agreed between all parties that it be posted in the announcement tab of the forum. That is in fact the purpose of that tab of the forum, for club announcements.
I would encourage anyone wanting to see the announcement to flip into the announcements tab of the forum and see it there.
Thank you
Nathan Duncan

While I am disappointed that there will be no National Show this year, I appreciate that the decision was made now. Many thanks to Chad and Chapter 9 for their involvement! Getting to see Chad's recently acquired Holt as well as other machines in his collection and Chapter 9's was (and still is) something I don't want to miss.
Now for the "let's get on the same page" grousing. Maybe the board or a committee should oversee the site selection process. There are shows throughout the country that are big enough to support a national convention during their show. Many announce what they will be featuring a year (or two or three) in advance. Suggesting CAT or heavy equipment or construction equipment might just trigger some shows to throw their hat in the ring. A good source is the Farm Show Catalog that comes out the end of February.
One other suggestion is to look for working shows. Again, there are some good ones out there.
Let's make this a learning experience and make ourselves better for all. Again, thanks to Chad and Chapter 9.
Also, thanks to Neil for his past service as president and best wishes for Nathan!

You are correct Nathan, "Announcement Section" IS where it belongs. Not everyone reads each section of the bulletin board however.
Not attempting to stir things up, glad you directed folks to go look themselves, as it isn't my place to do so.
As far as 2022, we can all appreciate the fact that Chad was willing to host a show. It takes a lot of time and other valuable resources that most aren't able to share.
Thanks for your time. JM

HCEA national show is at their museum near Bowling Green, OH.
September 23, 24, 25, 2022.
Why not a combined show again?
I don't expect a reply.

Don't think I'm going to make it this year.
8 Canadian Provenience is a bit too much when you add another 6 US states to get to the show
That's only oneway ...

a family friend used to attend a machinery display when he lived outer suburbs of sydney. on the same ground another community group held a swap meet. they were both held on consecutive weekends each year and attendance was falling so some one suggested hold them at the same time.

and the public could pay to view the machinery show or the swap meet or both to keep track of what you had paid for involved a short piece of ribbon safety pinned to your shirt one was red the other was green. you had the colour ribbon for the event you paid to attend or both if you wanted to attend both.

and guess what it was a roaring success attendance increased for both events with more exhibitors and more visitors.

due to the work and cost involved is partly why the NHMA national rally is only every 4 yrs. the event is also used to hold the NHMA AGM for that year.

there is no reason why it cant be done as a combined event with something else. perhaps the committee can look into this.

members who's own clubs are organising events prehaps the national show could be included as part of it.
there is no need for it to just be old cat equipment a lot of the general public wouldn't know the difference as most earthmoving equipment is and was painted yellow for safety reasons.
