Hi All-
I'm a new member at ACMOC and posted a list of parts I'm trying to locate for my 1959 D6 9U (s/n 29018) with factory hydraulics and blade. There have been a lot of views but no responses. I'm looking for the starter pinion sleeve and latch assembly (p/n 1F909/3B5440/3B5441/2A2350/2B1864/2B5122) and a replacement 4F7038 exhaust manifold. The old one is rusted beyond repair. I'm assuming that gaskets are available as aftermarket parts. Is that correct? If so, who do you recommend?
Also, has anyone ever fabricated the pony exhaust manifold (p/n 5H4035)? Mine is rusted out and I can't find a replacement anywhere. It doesn't look like a casting...
I'm not trying to poach folks' parts sources. Just need a little help to get started. The dozer ran 3 years ago and has been covered since. Looking to get started on restoration in the spring.
Thanks in advance-
Bill

Hi Bill, have you tried your nearest Cat dealer yet? They do still have some parts for older machines. Outside of that, searching for parts on machinerytrader.com will provide a list of vendors. One vendor that is commonly a great source is Florin in CA. For exhausts that are "just" tube, they're easy to make in an exhaust shop. Depending on the tube size, there may also be options to buy generic tube and cut and join to fit

Another good source for locating is Machinery Trader .com, search parts, just type in part #, for example, 2B2934 or if 2T55 type in 2T0055

I will include pics and prices from the cat website from what I could find. The 2 exhaust manifold numbers say they have been indirectly replaced, so they might or might not could help you with those with an updated number
