I can't find any comments here, but shouldn't the "SAFETY" lever on the D9E model powershift console be painted RED?
Even the (included) scaled down spec sheet, though in black & white, shows the lever in a gray shade, as opposed to the shift selector which is solid black.
Second comment-
is the throttle lever STRAIGHT on the D9E? On the D9G it is angled toward the operator about 10" up the hsaft.
By the way, I am nuts about the model!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Under plex on my desk.
PS- Hope the new D9G is a 66A PS with a semi-U, tilt, NO RIPPER, and (just maybe) a removable cab! Pre-ROPS

D9G should be mid to late 66A series with S blade and 4 barrel SS ripper, hyd tank on RHS deck no cab at all and black and white stencilled "C" style decals but i will be happy with whatever they come out with.

Doh!
It looks like you are right on both counts for the D9E. The majority of the images look like they show the safety lever a different color, although in the OM&M, which I relied heavily upon for the model, it looks the same color as the gear lever. The governor control lever should be bent. In looking back at the D9D literature, even some of the images for it show it bent. We mistakenly carried it over as-is from the D9D. I've contacted First Gear to try to get both changed for the D9E hydraulic blade version. Glad to hear that you like the model despite these flaws.
It is good to hear opinions on the D9G model. Obviously, if everyone wants a slightly different version we can't make everybody happy, but it's good to hear what people want to see.

All the models look great! Dave you guys on the committee did a great job on these models.
We have a D9D and we will have three versions of the D9E without a cab.
Go for the cab on the D9G!

The knob should be red - I've painted mine.
I've also painted the starting engine exhaust rain cap silver (and my D9D's as well).
I've never seen a yellow one yet.
As for the D9G I would personally like to see a 9C blade but I'll be happy with whatever shows up:o:)

Dave, with your comment that the D9E hydrualic will be changed over does this mean the next version in the D9 series will be a hydraulic D9E and possibly a G sometime after that?

Dave, maybe we ought to include a teeny tiny little red sticker to be self applied upon receipt by the buyer. This way the purists can be happy.
I think you are doing a great job. I also think that if a few get out without the revision, it just looks like the real machine that maybe had a cracked handle that was replaced with something out of the service truck.

Yes, the next model is a D9E with a hydraulic dozer, due first quarter of 2009. The D9G will follow.

This is just an FYI on early D9's. The Danbury Mint has a model of an early ('55)Cat D9. It is also a clock. The detail is great, I have purchased and received the model. It is made of cold cast porcelain, about 9 inches long.
