Regarding the track chain pitch and width for an R5. How does it compare to the old D4-5T?

Thanks for the help,

Jim - Close, but maybe not close enough. It does seem that both have 6.75" track pitch. However .. other undercarriage differences are ..

Track pin diameter ...... R5 - 1 7/16" ... D4 5T - 1 5/16"

Track bushing dia. ....... R5 - 2 1/8" ..... D4 5T - 2"

Track shoe bolt dia. .... R5 - 9/16" ....... D4 5T - 1/2"

I don't have dimensions for rail height and inside/outside rail dimensions for the R5, it's too old for any of my undercarriage info, which rarely goes back beyond WW2. However, it's highly likely those dimensions were different as well between the two machines.

My Caterpillar Pocket Guide (not reliable) shows a track link height of 3-7/16 in.

Actually R5 and RD6 used same track as D6 4R/5R and 8U/9U.
