Has anyone tried the cheaper cylinder liners that some of the aftermarket tractor parts suppliers are selling. Curious if they are any good. Have a 7U that could use a overhaul.
Thanks Don

I just had my number one mechanic SF get some overhaul goodies from our local CAThouse, parts cost was right at $2000.00, I am hoping they sent the real deal.
Florin might have some stuff, from the huge inventory they had acquired a couple years ago.
BTW, this is the first and only engine rebuild we have ever had done to a crawler. It was cheaper than buying new clothes for the slobber issue. JM

Hi Bluegrass 1985,
I have just finished a total rebuild on a 56 7U and used aftermarket liners with no problems so far the, price difference was the main choice, as for the quality I was impressed how well they where machines.
I started her up 2 weeks ago with no adverse reactions.
regards
Daryl

Hi Bluegrass1985,
I reused the original pistons they where like new but put new rings on them, as it looks like it was rebuilt about 50 hours before something went wrong and they started stuffing around with it, and then water got into both motors, so total rebuilds on them.
As for the seals no they did not come with the liners you require 12 of them.
Regards
Daryl

There's the head gasket, is that what you are asking about, the small copper gasket 4F7206 goes under the top lip of the liner, and yes, the 12 pcs are the rubber O rings
