Hope all are safe and have had no losses. I heard Bruce Petty has been busy with making fire breaks with a disk in the wheat fields. Stay safe and hope to hear from you soon. Gary

Hi all here are a few pictures of our little smudge. 65,000 acres as of today. It was about 1.5 air miles from us at the closest. It was pretty dicey for awhile but it's got a good line around it on our side. Fire is burning well to the west of us now. If you look up the Lick creek fire you can see where it's at. It will be smokey for awhile I'm sure. I'm certain this one will be burning till the snow flies.
Thanks for the concern.
Bruce.

Too close for comfort BP! Glad everyone is okay, hopefully no loss of life or property. Very good of you to provide seat time to help keep things under control for your neighbors as well. Those photos probably do not reflect how bad that situation really is. Thanks for sharing. Be safe!!! JM

Thanks for the photo's Bruce! Yea! to close for comfort! Always good to have the right tools for the job, I cant understand why those people in the brushy areas dont keep that brush and weeds under control so the fires dont reach there homes and buildings, I would be planning ahead and make fire breaks every year.

Thanks for taking time to share pictures. Lived the smoke in 16 with the Chimney fire that end at over100,000 acres. It was no closer than 3 to 4 miles and some much better terrain to use trucks and dozers the closer it would get to my place.
The days and days of smoke seems to depress everyone when it goes on for weeks instead of days. Hope they get a handle on it, and does not circle back at you again.

Man I hate to see all those wildfires!!
Even if it misses one's property and no casualties it ruins the land for years!! Flat prairie land next to me won't produce worth a crap and it has been 9 years after a measly prairie fire.

Thanks everyone, I'm 90% sure we are in the clear now. It's still burning, but it's well to the west. These pictures show some of the aftermath.

Thank you for sharing Bruce, glad it was stopped before it came any closer, was too close as it was. Wild fires are so scary, going out to make some fire brakes around our stubble fields today! Turned the beef out to pasture what was left so not much to burn anymore, cant be too safe as your photos show!

Hi all,
I heard from Bruce's wife Jenny on the 20th, they were safe at that time.
Pictures help show the impacts but never show the herculean efforts by those closest to the lines.
Thanks Bruce - keep the family safe!
