I have a D4 7U8869. The front bearing is starting to make a little noise. Is it possible to change that thru the clutch inspection hole in the top of the bell housing? Or do I have to pull the top cover off the transmission? I looked at the book and it shows how to get it apart. Just not if you can do it without pulling the top cover.

The cover will have to come off to get in there.

Thank you. I was hoping not to have to pull it. But if I do I do.

Hi kracked1,The noisey bearings in the box could be the one inside the front input shaft, there are only five bearings in the box if you go in to do one you might as well do all of them.

I have done several boxes now and for a few hundred dollars It is good insurance.
You will require the following
2 x 6308
1 x 6313
1 x 6309
1 x AB1307
1 X M1307TV

 Plus gaskets

Regards
