SCOTE/single cylinder cat engine was created by caterpillarsam

Hi all recently picked up this S.C.O.T.E, i know the basics about these engines e.g. purpose etc the serial tag shows 1A1597, i cant find any information on the 1A engines anywhere. im hoping someone may know a bit more about them quite why its blue i dont know but there is yellow paint showing through in places.many thanks in advance
