Greetings from Texas!

I’m a long time ACMOC site stalker, off and on member, and haven’t posted in years so I thought I would introduce myself and my machine.
I have been the owner of D2 5U4376 since 2000. My Uncle purchased it new in Wenatchee, Washington in 1950 and used it as an orchard machine for many years. Sometime in the late 1980’s he gave it to another Uncle and it was transported to his ranch in Ojai, California. In 2000 it was given to me and I pushed it onto my trailer and brought it to Pipe Creek, Texas.

I rebuilt the pony carb, adjusted the steering clutches (which have never functioned well) and got much good work out of it around the ranch. Primarily clearing cedar and occasionally entertaining my boys and now the grandkids by letting them drive around.

For a 71 year old machine, it is in pretty good shape!  The hour meter functions and shows 5612 hours.

I recently finished a project with my 88 year old Father and asked him what he wanted to work on next.  He said “let’s work on the D2.”

So….. I cleaned her up and pulled her in the shop.  We plan to address: steering clutches, main clutch and pony motor issues (and anything else we discover along the way).

Dad and I are both mechanically inclined but this will be the biggest project we have tackled. We have watched many videos and read many posts on this site but I’m sure we will have many questions as we progress.

Thanks in advance for all the advice and assistance I suspect we will receive with this project.

bpusmc + Dad!,
Good luck and good cheer! What a great story and plan for you and your Dad. Hopefully there will be a few of the young ones in your family that find there way into the shop and learn a few things from you two.

Best-

Looks like a solid D2!! From the photos it is not the first antique project you and your dad have worked on. :) :)
Keep us posted on progress.

Welcome back. Looks like you will have a fun project. Amazing after 70 plus years is correct. Thanks for sharing the history. Keep us posted! JM
