Hi All,
Been awhile since I have posted. I've been off building RatRods. There maybe a new Cat adventure in the future. I found a D4-7U with a loader. Both engines are free, don't know about the clutches. Its been setting for about 20 years. Theres no rails for it. The pads and everything else is there. The guy had the rails pulled off to have the pins turned, and never went back to get them. He said the old beast ran good when parked. I can buy it for scrap price. But I sold all my D4 under carriage parts. I believe the serial number is 7U8416, I think. About what year would that be?
Thanks In Advance,
Ken

OM: Thanks. I knew I could count on you
. I am going to scrounge around and see if I can come up with some rails for it. There is another guy near by that buys/sells Cat parts and he needed a set of D2 tracks awhile back. Maybe he has a set of D4 tracks that I can trade him for. So how has everybody been on here? I'll post some pics of the Cat and a couple of my two RatRods I am building. The black one is the one I started last summer, I don't know if anyone remembers. Its purty much complete and on the road now. The other one is a 1931 Model A pickup. Guess I just like anything old, rusty, and noisy.

Years ago when I started with the Cat dealer there were lots of them here in the area in use.One of the local land fills had one and it was very delicious to work on it with the sweet smell it had LOL.One time I went to their job to work on it and had to chase the rats out of the belly pan so I could work on it.One draw back with them was the bucket couldn,t be tilted back but was changed when the 955 12A loader came out.
