I want to thank you for adding me to the group, The journey begins in 1975 when my parents Norman and Virginia Thomas and great Uncle Ken Thomas purchased this 1956 D6 9U to log and build roads on our tree farm in Beavercreek Oregon. With a 120 Acre Tree farm to manage it was a dream come true. The D6 was owned by a gentlemen up at Mt Hood Oregon, he had a small sawmill and used it to push sawdust and move logs around. My brother Ron Thomas and I along with my father and uncle Don Fleming ,also Ken worked together logging and also cutting lumber with our Mobile Dimension sawmill . My brother and his wife died in a house fire in Molalla Oregon in 1981. I continued to do private jobs and manage our tree farm with the D6 until the pony motor detinated in 1999. I then removed the pony and there she has sat this whole time. Im going to completely restore this old gal I call Brutus to like new condition in Honor of my past family. I cant thank you all enough in advance for the help I will get from this club. Ill post pics and video as I go.

Mike, what a great project to restore Brutus!! Sounds like Brutus is one of the family. So sad about your Brother and his wife.
There are a lot of friends on this board that can help you in many ways be it knowledge or encouragement. Welcome aboard.

Welcome and sorry for the loss of your family, I've been to Molalla, you will find lots of helpful folks here, it will not be hard to get that pilot motor squared away, if you put a wanted advert on here and in the Club magazine you will probably find a few good used pony motors laying around after tractors have been converted to electric start.

Well guys here we go, This is where she has been sitting for 20 plus years, Im going to put new filters on her and flush the fuel tank, I also cant thank Allen from gaston Oregon for finding the pony motor in the thousands of parts he has, It is a remanufactured block with new pistons and Crank and the works. They didnt even know he had it. Ill be getting a 750 dozer to push her out and get her going. Ill get the pony installed and hope for the best. Ive rebuilt the pony carb and have all the gaskets I need to get her installed.
