That’s different. Lowell C. has a CAT that has a hydraulic driven motor on the back to start with. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I guess it,s innovative. But must be dangerous. I will not be trying to use it to start the main engine. Just imagine reaching in over the rotating ring gear to knock out the PTO once the engine is running.

Wombat's mate Pertu in Finland used a hydraulic motor in place of the pony motor on a 36A to get it started. There's a video of it on youtube where he uses his John Deere to supply the hydraulic power to the motor. I don't know if the motor had a Bendix or some other disengageable pinion on it?

neil you woudnt need a bendix if you drove the original intermediate gear with the hyd motor as you would use the factory clutch mechanism the only thing needed is to mount everything in place
