Hi All!!
We display our D-2 at the A.V. fair with branch 30 of the EDGETA.
I am in the process of completing a new display sign for baby 2. One of the most FAQ's is what she cost new.
She's a class of '39, s/n 5J 1696SP, features side mounted fuel tank, 16" track shoes, carrier rollers and tool box. Originally sold in Southern California.
Last displayed at BSOT.
Considering the great depression it is an interesting question. Any ideas?? Many Thanks!!

Tom,
What I show on the early D2’s (Nov. 25 1946 price list) is the standard Models: 50-inch gauge tractor, with 12-inch grouser tracks 6B5407 (30-section), equipped with: rear seat 7B6699 which weighted in at 7,010 lbs was priced at $2,695.00.
Top seat, Seat-Mounted fuel tank standard, however, fender-mounted fuel tank optional when specified, weighted in at 6,870 lbs and was priced at $2,650.00.
I can't find any prices early than the 1946 list, so this is the best I can do. Maybe someone else can come up with a older price listing.
Kelly

Many Thanks Kelly!! That's good stuff!! I was attempting to extrapolate from published Twenty and Thirty F.O.B. brochures as opposed to what I've heard for the D-2's!! Thanks again!! I really appreciate your response!! Hope to meet you at the next event!!

Boy hasn,t the price of them really changed since the good old days. I remember we bought a new just out red belly Ford farm tractor in Sept. of 1947 and the price was new $1,213 and we had to scrape to pay that price but sold our older Massey Harris 81 to help offset the price. We had to buy plows over and above that and later cultivators and also a 3 point hitch wood saw so we could saw fire wood for our house furnace.

Hey SJ, Check this out!! According to my search, a new house in 1939 cost average was $3,850!! I'd much rather had both the Ford and the Cat!! I also have a "37 Packard which sold for $800!! That doesent even buy the insurance for it now!! Thanks for the response!!

In 1950 Grandpa Brooks bought a Allis W-D ,a new cornell barn cleaner and a new chevy coupe. Each of these cost around 1500.00$. Milk was bringing 4.00$ a Hundred . By my calculations we should be getting 40.00$ a hundred now. We still have the W-D. The Farmer

As I recall, my brother in law said they paid about $4500 in 1948 for a 5U D2 with a 2S blade and 44 pump.
