Question on D2/3J-5J Dash

I have modified a D2/3J rope start dash to accept the cat electric pony start set-up. My question is that on the factory electric pony start dash, it shows a hole on the lower left side of the dash just above the fender. Is this hole for the rear light wire or is it for the battery cable that runs from the solenoid to the battery box? Also, does anyone know what diameter hole it is. I have a seat tank, not a fender tank model. Thanks for any advice. :D

Joe,
The hole is about 1.250" Attached is a picture of the hole and a picture of the remains of some of what might be original wire covering and clips from the generator on a 5j, not much but gives you some idea what it might look like.

This scan of a parts book insert looks like it is the hole for the battery cable, and it shows a second smaller hole, possibly for the ammeter wire.
