Good afternoon folks! I have asked for help that is very slow coming from my local CAT dealer and since I am getting close to needing a gasket I thought to ask you. I am looking for the gasket that goes around the transmission of my D4. It looks like a rope or cork type gasket that sits in a groove in the transmission/steering clutch cover. Also, is there a gasket for the cover itself? My cover does not cover the engine clutch but is the later type. Thank you for your help!

Cover uses a 3/8" square high density cork gasket.

Thank you Old Magnet, is there a CAT number for it or where do you suggest I find the material? I've never see it on the commercial market, but I certainly don't know it all! Thanks again!

Part number is 3B0899, comes in two pieces with bevel cut at the ends.
It would seem that square o-ring material would work but I have not tried it. I'd be a little wary of matching the durometer rating of buna-n vs cork.

Old Magnet, was there no gasket under the rest of the cover? Should be some kind of sealer be used there?

Nothing is used on the mating flanges other than the cork gasket discussed.
