-finally getting around to giving the winch on my D6c some attention...my parts guy figures they are the most neglected item on a dozer...

he printed off some paperwork and info but i'm not finding my answers...

-some numbers on winch....Hyster D6C...Manual Trans..

-is there a pump, with an oil filter, strainer screen, sock of some sort on pump intake suction....or is this just a bath type system...?
-found oil Capacity= 10 gallons..
-pulled some covers but all i'm finding is bearings..

No expert here but pretty sure they were splash lube. Pretty sure no pump or filter or strainer....

Professional winch men will chime in.....I agree with the theory that they were the first to be neglected maintainance wise....

Hopefully you are finding bearings in tact and not in pieces?

so far so good, bearings look great.... it was used and maintained at some point...don't think i will use it much but it might as well be functional, you never know!

These are the lubrication pages from my Hyster D6C Winch book, I don't see a filter listed.
