Water Temprature Guage Calibration

More

My water temprature guage reads about 120 when the ambient temprature is really 95. Is it possible to loosen the nut on the back side and adjust it? I wasn't sure if you could and didn't want to mess up a guage.

I would check it in boiling water and see if it's correct at that temperature before I messed with it. Don't know if that adjustment will work or not. I've never noticed that on another gauge.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

I tried your suggestion and put the end of the gauge in a pot of water and it came up where it was suppose to be right when it started boiling. I think I'll leave it alone. Thanks for the help.
