The National Pike Steam Gas and Horse Association and the HCEA International Convention will be held August 8,9 and 10 at the National Pike showground off U.S. Route 40 west of PA Toll Route 43, Brownsville Pa. Many operating shovels, draglines, bulldozers, scrapers, off highway trucks and other antique trucks and equipment. Farm tractor show, flea market, crafts and lots of good food and shade. Free primtive camping. All Caterpillar and other construction equipment are welcome to display or show.

For those who have never seen one, Jay Wacks Euclid TC 12 Bulldozer will be in opertation at the National Pike/HCEA Show August 8, 9 and 10 near Brownsville Pa.

We will also have Dale McManaman's LeTourneau Super C Tournapull,Sam Descutner's newly restored Bucyrus Erie 22B, Wayne Baker's 992A, and our single cylinder Caterpillar 3401 Oil Test engine.

The Cat dealer I worked for sold the BE line and the 22B was quite a machine. I remember we sold one mounted on a truck chassis to a local scrap yard here in Wilkes Barre and we kept it serviced for him.Also the 992s were quite popular here in the area and sold quite a number of them too.They had back then the big V 3412 engine in them.Also in the coal strippings operation there were lots of the big BE drag lines in service and many had Cat engines in them.

I was given the chance to try and learn to run Paul Smith's 22B last year. I got the swing down, but needed more seat time to get the rest down pat.

The National Pike/HCEA show is just one week away. Many Caterpillar tractors, scrapers and graders, also many of the shovels, draglines and other machines powered by Caterpillar engines. Visitors are expected from many countries worldwide.

At 3:30 this afternoon there were 42 shovels, draglines and backhoes on the show grounds. Also many Caterpillar and other construction machines, and several antique construction trucks and other vehicles.

count me up there friday with my HT4 crawler loader. i will be up later in the day. i have a hospital appointment in the morning for some tests. but i will be there all weekend! hope to see and meet more new people!
