I wrestled with the idea of posting my negative experience with the unnamed business.I didn't want to use this site in a negative way.At the same time I wished someone had warned me of this businesses less than exceptable business practises. That is the only reason I wrote the post. I guess the days of "the customer is always right" and treating your customer like he is important to you are long gone. I hate to see it at places like Lowes and Home depot, even more from fellow crawler enthusiasts. If I owe an apology for creating such a stir (other than to the unnamed business) I am sorry. My intensions were purly honorable.

Maybe we should turn this to the positive and invite members to share their experiences with those venders who have given excellent service. There isn't any need to invite litigation by disparaging people when we can recommend those that serve us well.

n2s3, I don't look upon this experience as a negative, and actually, you may have done us a favor by your post. I think it is high time we brought this issue out into the open and wrestled with it. Many minds are better than one. And the underlying problems won't be going away any time soon. You can find the same thing in the Old Testament, representing human experience of, say, 5,000 years ago. GWH

I try not to speak out unkindly against a business, large or small. I said "TRY"!
Its been my observation over the years that what goes around, comes around! Someday you'll want to sell something and someone else will be unhappy about the accuracy and speed of your sale!
Just drop it and get on with life.

For the last 63 years, I have tried to live by the rule "if you can not say anything good about a person, then don't say anything at all." It is the honorable way and it will save you a lot of grief in the long run. Live a positive life and leave the negatives behind you, and you will become richer for doing so.

I'm not in a position to really comment here, but I don't think that censoring discussion of transaction experiences is a good idea. What I have seen of the folks here is that there is a general will to help each other out, and part of that would have to be sharing negative experiences - whether it be poor customer service, poor quality parts, or not getting what you paid for. From a legal perspective it is all in the wording, calling a guy a crook is one thing, explaining that you sent a large quantity of unmarked bills and got nothing in return is another. The feedback system is okay, but it is not flawless. I agree with others that if a vendor is good - even if one transaction isn't - that there will be others available to balance the criticism.

The wording of your speech is really hitting the nail on the head. Saying something good or bad without name calling is the way it should be.
I contacted a different person about buying some stuff that was going to China. He gave me a price and I sent him the money. After two weeks he emailed and apologized for the delay as this is a side job. I said its OK and the parts showed up the same day anyways. Not only that but there were extra pieces I would need and no charge for them.
The point is I was upset for not hearing from him and could have assumed that he took the money and ran.
BUT I kept my fingers OFF from the keyboard. Which if I had slammed him at noon, then got home to find a box on the porch, who would look like the IDIOT? (Not Him!)
the point is that forum postings, inter-office email or even email to your brother or sister can be written the way your brain sees it but not the way the other person interprets it. Also if its in a forum everyone who sees it will make assumptions based on opinion and feelings not just actual facts.

Lets not leave this conversation just to sellers. I recently have sold some stuff on here and ebay, and 99 percent of the buyers are great to deal with and become friends. However, the 1% are a total pain in the A$$. Let's make a list of bad buyers if we are going to make a list of bad sellers. Actually, all of the ones that are a pain are actually from this board; knock on wood as I have had 100% pleasent expercience with buyers from ebay!
