In the past couple of evenings I got a new transmission filter, a new screen for the magnetic screen, and got the magnets cleaned and all reinstalled. I've drained the oil from the case. I thought about giving the case a good rinsing with diesel just to help clear up extra debris. I've had to do that before on Deere farm tractors. Also, I adjusted my brake bands and had to readjust the linkage on the right pedal to meet book spec. Next up is a pressure check on the steering clutches and transmission oil pump. We'll see what that turns up.

yes i did the same with mine when i first bought it, changed the trans oil and filter, and cleaned up the magnets and screen. The filter element didn't look bad at all but the magnets and metal screen were nasty like you say. Magnets and screen must catch +99% of the brake, clutch fibres and anything magnetic, really effective i would guess
always dropping GOLD, all you have to do is just pick it UP !

After new filters and a screen cleaning I got the transmission case refilled with farm store 30 weight, as bad as I hated to, but couldn't afford better right now. After a near complete battery cable rebuild I got the tractor to run again and checked steering clutch pressures. Both were low, as I was afraid of. Transmission full of new oil @ roughly 77°F. I know I wasn't @ operating temp like the service book recommends but that wasn't feasible. Left around 240 psi and right around 250 with a nearly complete loss after more than a couple of strokes on the lever. I haven't checked the pump pressure yet but I figure it's low also. Would straight low pressure be the pump and the complete loss be the o-rings and/or springs in the clutch spools or vice versa? Any and all suggestions and info are appreciated.

I'd suspect leaking seals at the steering clutches. You can isolate/check by inserting blank sheet metal flanges at the steering clutch flange connections and checking pump pressure.

OM, you are meaning blinding the inlet pipes off where they go into the transmission case correct? And the seals you mention are on the steering clutches themselves correct? Meaning the steering clutches would need to be pulled to resealed.

OM, I checked the pump this evening at the test port on it, and got 285-290 psi, of course that's at about 67°F instead of operating temp. 300 psi is the high side spec. What tubes are you referring to below elbows?

Do you have a parts book to check?
Look below the elbows, there is a connecting tube between the elbow and the connection for the steering clutch. There is an o-ring at the top and a seal at the bottom of the connecting tube.
300psi is the spec .The pressures that you indicate, is that with the elbows blocked. Pressure you got is good. (were the elbows blocked off for the readings) and is that what you got when you pulled the steering clutch levers? If so, I'd say the pump is good.

Yes sir, I do have the parts manual to refer to. I did not have the elbows blocked with any type of sheet metal like you previously mentioned. The pressures were each steering clutch lever stroked full stroke three times just to be sure of myself more than anything.Left registered 280-285 and right read 285-290. I agree, I believe that the pump is fine. Going to get the parts manual now to look through.
