Again, something one would think was easy to find turns out difficult. Drove all over East Tennessee looking for a belt for the Ten. Looks to be 41" X 3/4". Tried NAPA, Cat, Lawnmower shops, ect... I appreciate all the help available here. Any ideas? Mark

Look in your yellow pages of a Ph. book and see if there is a store that deals just in belts and up here we had one that sold bearings of all types and stocked belts of all sizes so this might give you a place to check. Some of these Cat dealers won,t check anything unless you have a part number and that,s uncalled for.At the Cat dealer I worked for we had a book to break down belts in size and then it gave you the Cat number to use.I looked in a Cat one safe source book and a belt 3/4" X41-1/2" is 5M5344 so it doesn,t seem a 1/2" longer would give you a problem. It was the shortest one listed and is listed in a 2005 edition book.

Thanks. Will take that number to the dealer and see what they say. You are right. If you don't have a number they can't look up on the computer, then "they don't have it and they can't get it"

Mark,
Parts guys are IDIOTS when they don't have a parts number. They typically know nothing about equipment and only know the numbers. Most of the time I get the impression i am inconvenienceing them by asking questions or having them look up information and i just want to tell them stop being lazy and do your job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call the NAPA you went to and ask for the idiot parts guy you were speaking to. Order a "25 28406" fan belt and ask him why he couldn't figured it out. This belt normall costs 25 to 30 bucks and should fit your ten perfectly! Good luck and let us know if you need any other help!

Went back to NAPA, put the old belt on the counter, the lady that waited on me rolled her eyes when I told her I had a number. Guess what? They had it in stock. "There's nothing like looking if you want to find something" Thanks Matt. Mark
