D2 Governor spring?

D2 Governor spring? was created by juiceman
Hi everyone. I have an issue with my D2. Probably nothing to worry about, but too many people always ask.
At low idle, the engine lopes, it goes up and down in RPMs, doesn’t die; at high idle it doesn’t lope or flutter, everything is fine.
Is it due to weak governor springs? I’m not going to tear into it, just curious.
Thanks in advance. JM.

Just the nature of a high hour governor. You might want to set the low idle up 50 rpm to damp it out.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

Oh okay. Thanks CCJersey. I’d love to set the high idle up too, but fear grenading it.
