The RD7, 5E series is a rare tractor of which only 25 units were produced in 1935 and was replaced by the 9G series.

I know there was one up in the mountains of Idaho or Montana that I looked at several years ago. It seems to me at the time there were a few of those that had surfaced.
I know that George Howard had one of the 5 or 6 5E RD 6's that were made before they decided to call them the RD 6.

Willie - amazing, and amusing, too, because it wouldn't be worth $50,000 to anybody who was rational. I think Dennis ought to get a photo of this beast. Even I might be interested in it, but we'd have to see what it looks like. Could be a hoax, too. GWH

I was looking up in my SNID book and Cat had a thing for 5Es I guess as I counted nearly 20 different engines, graders and tractors with the 5E SN.I guess not many of each piece of equip.was sold as when one was dropped the next piece of equip. picked up the next SN left from the one dropped.

I recently came across a single drive grader with a D2 motor, Engine serial no 5E5960. Supplied or made by Waugh and Josephson [Cat dealers ] in Brisbane. Only # I could find on Chassis was 3731, on left side of Chassis. Owen Triggel tells me that 5E s/n's were allocated to Manufacturers who used Cat. engines to manufacture Gear, Gen sets, graders etc. That grader also had 212 on side of Cabin still readable. Any thoughts ?
