1957 model should i put a gasket sealer on the seal washers at the bottom of the chambers i am using steel washers also how much torque should i put when installing thanks jw45

They get torqued at 200 ft.lb according to the spec. sheet and at the dealer we never put any sealer on the washers but use never-seize on the threads on the chamber and the washer and put a coating too on the threads in the head too.I have seen those chambers seize in the head and you either had to burn them out or at times would pull the threads out so those replaceable thread inserts had to be installed or if too bad would have to be sent to a shop that would weld up the head and rethread them.
