D2 5u Fuel Pump Assy Question

Hi All,
This is my first post so here goes. I'm hoping someone can help me w/ out with an issue I'm having w/ the fuel pump assemblies on my D2-5U late series wide guage orchard model.

The parts manual lists orig. p/n: 4F5015 which equals new p/n: 8M9753.
Is it possible to use orig. p/n: 4F6921 which equals new p/n: 8M9758 instead?

The reason I ask is because we ordered as set of 4 FPAs p/n: 4F5015s from a company called AFI out of the Modesto,CA. We received this set of 4 and 2of them were NG, they leaked. The other 2 appeared ok and were installed on the Cat awaiting the replacement units. When we received the 2nd set of 2 replacement FPAs the boxes were marked with p/n: 8M9753, but the parts were physically stamped with p/n: 4F6921 which is new p/n: 8M9758. The housings looked the same, while the internal parts appeared similar, but the shaft was thicker in diameter. We assembled them on the tractor and they appeared to work. We were able to start the engine and it ran smooth at idle and full throttle, however when we loosen the nut that attatches the fuel line to the FPA it should cause the tractor to sputter which it does on the (2) 4F6921 FPAs, but loosening the nut on the 4F5015 FPAs does not have the sputtering affect on the tractor. Do I stand to damage the tractor by using the 4F6921 FPAs, even though they appear to work?
Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Thanks in advance,
Jess

I have a D4 U series parts book but not a D2 but the 4F6921 is listed as the pump for a D4 so it sounds like they sent you the wrong pumps so I,d return them and demand the correct part number or my money back.

The 4F6921...now 8M9758 is a 8mm bore pump used on the D315/D318.
The 4F5015...now 8M9753 is a 7mm bore pump used on the D311.

As SJ states you have a couple of wrong pumps that should be exchanged for the right ones.

Thanks for the responses and advise. That's exactly what we're doing, we just ordered a new set of 4 FPAs. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

Thanks Again,
Jess

Hi BBoaz,
The name if the company is Associated Fuel Injection, they operate out of Modesto, CA. Their phone# is 209-529-2416. Ask for a guy named Mike, he's the president/owner (sorry I don't have his last name). They've been pretty square dealing thus far. Hope this helps.
