Just got my replacement cam gear for my D47U Pony engine. Some of the teeth on the old aluminum cam gear were broke off so I do not know how to correctley time the cam gear to the crank gear.Did a search but no luck. What would be the correct alignment of these two gears? Thanks for any help. Don

The crank gear will have a mark and the cam gear will have two marks and the one is to line up with the crank gear the the other one is for the magneto gear to mesh with. I,ve put a truck load of them together but been so long ago since I retired I can,t remember what the markings are but look at them & I,m sure you can figure it out.

Just worked on a D4 7U this morning, align the "C" on the cam gear to the "C" on the crank gear, and the "M" on the cam gear to the "M" on the mag gear.

If you tighten it up good and bend the lock over to hold the nut in place it should be enough.
