I am resealing my 1950 D2 Cat 44 single valve hydraulic pump. I need help with finding a redi sleeve for the input shaft, 4F4408, the seal, 5F4721 a double lipped seal, has grooved the shaft in both spots causing a wear groove and thus leaking. Dana at Florin can't just look up a redi sleeve, he needs a number. I have asked Wagoner Cat of Colorado, and they are trying to find something, but has not been able to locate the sleeve, if you have any information please post it for me.

I don't have that shaft in hand right now, but your local bearing supply should be able to measure and order the sleeve. I know that is not as convenient as just ordering, but that's all I have sitting here. If you can mic the shaft you might be able to look up the correct size online. Or hopefully someone remembers what they used before. CR/SKF speedi-sleeve is what I have used.

Hi Team,
as said, if you measure the shaft diameter you can likely select a suitable sleeve from the link list.
So as the seal lip does not burn on the sleeve I suggest you fill the lip wear groove on the shaft with epoxy and machine it true--the air gap between the sleeve and the shaft does not dissipate any heat build up away efficiently--a thick Lock-tite product may work for this as well--could even be something special in their product line by now.
In the first link I believe they have mixed the Inch and Metric size listing dimensions--

Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Found my notes!!!
Pump shaft takes a #99112 speedy sleeve.
The 5F4721 double seal is replaced by two # 3H1397 seals
3H1397 is equivalent to a skf/cr # 15141 or national/timken #51098

I put one on my 44 a couple of years ago - works just fine. Used them in a few places including sprocket shafts, steering clutch shafts, and transmission input shaft

The 99112 is a CR number (Chicago Rawhide). Should be able to cross reference to SKF.
For 1.123" to 1.127" shaft diameter.
