Cat Ten Bolts was created by Member2103
Am starting to reassemble my Ten and while cleaning up some of the bolts I noticed a "C' on the bolt head. Does this stand for Caterpillar? Did Caterpillar make their own bolts and forged the "C" on them? Was just wondering because it would seem to be more important to save and clean up these bolts rather than replace them.

Yes, those are Cat. Try to save as many as you can and use them where they can be seen. You can still buy bolts from Cat but the logo is newer. Cat bolts are more expensive but you get your money's worth. I think the industry standard for Cat bolts is L9. These are like Grade8 but the head is taller.
