Just wanted let you know that the first of a two part history of the Caterpillar Diesel Tractor and D9900 engine is appearing in the July '08 issue of Diesel World magazine, on stands now. Part two will come in the August issue. It's shorter than it ought to be, given the first Cat Diesel's place in history, but it's certain this historically significant piece of equipment was exposed to a group of people who had never heard the story. Knowingly or not, ACMOC members provided the first road signs for my research. Many thanks to all here, especially Tom Madden. This was one of the most interesting stories I've done in a long while.
