I was just looking through the cat hand tools and shop supplies catalogue and I saw hi way yellow paint part number 4c 4185, is the the correct stuff for the old tractors?
I thought I read on here they don’t do it anymore, would be convenient if they still did

Hi, Nick22australia.
I don't know about bulk paint availability here in DowNunda but Rustoleum make what they call Old Cat Yellow in spray cans. I have bought it at Mitre 10 but I suspect that pretty much any Rustoleum stockist would be able to get if they don't have it in stock.
Analyzing the composition of that - IF it is correct - should give your friendly local paint shop the data they need to mix it in bulk. It looked pretty good to me when I sprayed some on a 955H several years ago.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

My understanding is that CAT doesn't carry the correct shade of "Old CAT Yellow" any more?

Thats correct, pretty sad, Deere John still supplies all shades for there equipment. I was told Cats supplier discontinued it. Dont understand why, maybe give Peter Holt an ear full about it and maybe it could change.

The Cat Dealer William Adams here in Vic were selling Wattyl paint in Old Cat Yellow till a few years back, I have a can sitting here in my office, I spoke to a Wattyl shop in Bendigo a year ago and asked if they could mix more for me and they said no problem, the cost would be around $80 for a 4 litre can, so find a Wattyl shop in WA. I've used about 12 or 16 litres of it on my D4 7J and it looks good.
The Wattyl can label says
Wattyl Industrial Coatings
All Purpose Enamel
OLD CAT YELLOW
