I am looking for a source for new springs which hold the dust gaurds down on the steering clutch levers and shifter lever on a cat ten. Spring is 1 1/8 Diameter, just over 2 inches long, and just over 1/2 inch when fully compressed. Have been searching on mcmaster without any luck. Thanks!

The other critcal measurement you will need is the sectional diameter of the coil itself. This is the biggest factor to the sping rate or how stiff it is. I am sure that a .0625 (1/16") is too small and a .125 (1/8") is too big/stiff. Might be .09375 (3/32") Do you have a good one that you could mic? Also do you know how many coils/wraps are in an inch or how many coils are in the spring overall?

You should be able to get the whole works from Cat... cup, spring and cover, packing. I know I was able 10yrs ago and all three came to around $100.
