This D2 is a real diamond in the rough. It is a 5U17959, has a tool bar dozer, solid front idler, oil clutch, 2138 hours, front hook and belly pan, electric start pony motor, all gauges work. My quest for a late model d2 can finally be put to rest. :-)

TOBLUJON,
If I told you how much I payed for this thing,You would think I had lost it.
Remember now,I have wanted one of these for years. You know how it go'es when a guy wants something, and he wants it bad enough, money has little to do with it.
How much did I give for it? well,I'm embarressed to say. What would you give for it?What do you think it's worth.

Compressor,

Fair market value is all up to your value of it. If you feel you paid a fair price it doesn't matter what others say. I would have paid around $5000+/- for it. -glen

7UPULLER,
I sometimes wonder how much some of these guy's have given for there machines.
As I have stated before, some people stumble on to one and pay little or nothing. Then there are other ones (like myself) that probably paid to much, but your probably right. If a guy can justify paying the price, why not.

I have never seen a D2 with that late of a serial number with a pony motor. I thought they were all direct starts from about 1954 on?? Am I wrong?

Well, I just bought a D2 Saturday that someone here says is from 1955. It has a pony. I think you could order a pony for years and years as an option anyway. A friend tells me I was born forty years late, but I really like having the pony motor. I like that the diesel builds up oil pressure and gets to turning while not under compression. I may be wrong, but I feel it makes the old engines last longer. Plus, it's just great that you don't need any batteries.
