after a couple years of operation, it is time to reseal THE HOOD. not bad for a cat that was under water for 3 years, LOL.
i have to the injector pumps, output shaft on the clutch, trans imput seal and the seals in the steering clutch area.
so where is the best place to get "quality" seals. i don't want cheap tinny seals.

Hi KoO,
Most Cat seals can be crossed over to either National or Chicago Rawhide but unfortunately they are all being made in Mexico or Asia and the quality
has been going down hill. It's also somewhat difficult to purchase them on line at reasonable prices so I have found. Those little local bearing stores seem to have a corner on the market. Anybody know of a good on line source?

Hi KoO-
Far from an expert for you here, but FYI I just purchased seals for my D42T from Tri-State Bearings in Bloomington, IN. Cone bearings I purchased from them were Timken and he seemed to have a pretty good inventory. Bearings were more expensive than the same ones through CAT as were the seals.
I was amazed at how plyable one of the seals I removed was. I am sure it has never been replaced or the Clutch compartment even opened. The number is 812-333-4331.
I spoke with Jessica at Great Lakes Equipment today looking for some things. She was very helpful with new and old parts. Her number is 815-883-3336. They are located about 2-1/2 hrs SW of Chicago. Of course you have seen KiDNV list on the other site. Jessica is on there as well-
Happy Hunting!
