Here's a few pics from Saturday. My wife and I plus almost two year and our new one month went rambling down to the Kootenays for most of the weekend until we ran out of energy and two year old wouldn't sleep in our travel trailer. We bailed out Saturday night and drove four
hours home 🙂
1. Diesel 50 2. 60s? Canadian built Kenworth NTC and page/page rear suspension 3. 48A D7 4. Collection of Vancouver electric trolleybuses 1950s
Sorry but I omitted to take pics of 980C, D7 3T? D6 9U? and a few others. Next time!

Always like to see the old cats but this picture caught my eye because I installed underground utilities for 30 years.
It's wood water pipe. There was actually some of this stuff in service still when I first started out

Yes I am 34 yrs old but I remember there was an old water main near where I grew up and there was a bunch of this stuff in the bushes. Don't know when it was decommissioned.

Keep posting those old pictures.
The two year old sure looks in good spirits in these! I like that your giving him a proper indoctrination. Keep up the regular doses. Enough of this running around and he'll sleep anywhere, even in your camper.
I just love those old Diesel Fiftys. Those early, slow turning diesels get me every time.
Daron and I like to use his RD-6 to pushload our Diesel Seventy Five pulling the Wooldridge scraper. Unfortunately, we didn't have his RD-6 at Santa Margarita, so instead we used Garlic Mom's 9G D7. We like to pull it down far enough that you can hear each cylinder hitting and you're not quite sure if the next one is going to make it or not.
There were a couple of passes we made where I was sure we killed both machines, but that next cylinder came up on compression and she just kept going. I was wishing maybe someone had gotten some video of those passes, but I haven't seen any yet.
The wooden water pipe is really neat. I almost missed that detail until you pointed it out, d2gary. I mistook it for some modern plastic corrugated culvert.
I also like the Kenworth, 48A D7 and the busses, too.
Looks like a good time was had by all, although maybe Mom and Dad were a little tired.
Pete.

An old acquaintance stopped by a couple of weeks ago to view my old yellow stuff. His name is Tom R from Great Falls MT and he actually grew up in NW KS. He had not seen a Cat 40 scraper close up so he got to see mine up close and personal. His main reason for stopping was that he had not seen any of my postings on the board for a long time and I told him he was right as I had been so busy with all the farm work. (I am supposed to be retired)
His interest is collecting old Case tractors and he has a stable full with over 20. Of course we had to compare notes on the old Case tractors we farmed with years ago.
Really a nice unexpected visit from someone that does not belong to ACMOC but is interested in the old Cats.
Thanks for stopping by Tom.
PS: I have a lot of work ahead for the 112 and the D4 but don't seem to get to it.
