Hi all, could anyone tell me if a poney motor off a 5u d2 will fit on to a 5jd2.Will I have to change anything?
The pony motor on my 5j has very little compression and the head has been cracked and welded. I had the meg rebuilt so there was spark but I could never get the motor to fire, so I found a different motor for 300 dollars. The only problem is it came off a 5u so hopefully they are the same. Did it sound like I am going down the right track.
I would love any input ,and thanks.

Hi slurrydog. .I'm in a little town in the Blue Mountains called Granite. Still lots of snow on the ground here still at this altitude but it's starting to melt off slowly.

Hi ol Grump, I THINK i know where Granite is, is it by Sumpter?
My dad worked for a road building rock crushing company, and they did alot of work and spent alot of time in and around the LaGrande area. There last big raod job was when they widened and paved the road that goes from Astin to Sumpter, back in 1979 to 1980. I think it went over Timpten pass, anyway that was a neat company because they had a 933 a977 6 or 7 d82u and 2 d846a also 4 or 5 old Northwest rock shovels. The best time of my childhood was watching that old stuff work. Any way good info on the float i will keep that in mind.Thanks.
