Just found site!:D :D Am proud 1\2 owner of 9u D6. Am completly rebuilding tractor starting with main (almost complete!!!!). Pony is free and would like to get running later if feasible. Serial # is 9u13173 stamped on frame, engine block is also stamped above pan same#. Block also has plate with 9u17373?? Tractor has wet clutch, electric start as well as pony, and grease type track adjusters. Was told by seller it's a 49 model. Can anyone verify?? Would love to know any history. Work for dealer, but they say too old to trace. Will try to send photos. Thanks for the great site!!!

Holy crap you are a long way into this.Definitly not your standard tremclad
job.Are you going to blast everything and reprime and pant the complete machine? What about the brush guard is it going to stay? What is your plan for the completed machine? Parade queen or back to work?

CatDaddy, where abouts in this fine state are you located? Great looking tractor to start with, going to look great finished. I bet having that Cat truck parked next to it helps too.
Good Job; good find!!

Thanks for year model info:D Tractor was found in GA, looked good at first but turned in to more than bargined for!! Wanted to repair engine & use, but frame & guards/supports were badly cracked up & engine liners had froze & cracked from inside out. The rest of tractor looks good. Will need 1 rail & several rollers later, but we just want to fire engine for now. Next trip hope to hook to radiator & crank with starter!! Hope that will re-motivate for task ahead! Will send more photos.

You are at the right place ! You will find this to be a terrific source of information regardless of what your dealer says. Get some manuals when you can as they are also chock full of information.
Welcome aboard. You have a great model tractor there. I think of it like the venerable John Deere 4020 as one of the best models made (by Cat).
Send up some more pictures, and let us know how it goes. I have some great 9U parts if you come up short for anything.
