I'm looking for some engine main bearings for the diesel engine on my D8 8R. I called Regal and they have them. They are imported. The called them Precision Fit Platinum Parts. Has anyone ever used these and did you have good luck with them or should I stay away from them. They are very reasonable. They also have gaskets. Are their gaskets any good or has anyone used them. All comments would be appreciated very much. Does anyone have any bearings or gaskets laying around that they would like to get rid of? Send me a message if you do.

I haven't heard any negative feedback on Regal's bearings and I'm sure they are getting used. What feedback I have received is to be wary of any parts supplied in unidentified plain boxes such as valve guides and valves. The import valve guides apparently are made of junk metal that sluffs off the bore and into the oil system.....identified by the squeaking sound you hear when you fire off a fresh rebuild....has ruined many engines. Pertains to antique automotive engines but who knows how these "no brand" items migrate.

I bought some aftermarket valves and valve guides from Florin Tractor. The valves came in white boxes and had a tag on them that said that they are made in Turkiye and the tag said "SUPAR valves and guides." The valves look good. The valve guides came in a zip lock bag and were individually wrapped in clear wax paper or some paper like it. How do yuo know if the valves and guides are good??? All of this imported stuff makes me nervous, there is alot of low quality stuff out there these days.

If the products do not have a recognized source or manufacturer I would consider them to be junk. Yes, they might look nice but who knows what quality control or metallurgy is involved or not.

I wouldn't blindly say that just because things come in white boxes they are junk. One should always inquire as to who made them. I remember buying Timken bearings for my 5 ton 6 x6 from a guy was called the Bearing King on ebay. He would buy out bearing supply houses or surplus lots of bearing. He said that he would go through everything and sometimes had to "rebox" bearings because the original boxes got damaged in storage or liquidation process. He had those type of plain white boxes that he would put the bearings in. He would let you know what manufactures he had available and you would choose what you wanted.
If anyone needs roller or tapered roller bearings, give him a try at

He said he never got into getting seals.
He also buys NOS bearings if you have any available.

For a little more piece of mind you can try the CAT classic brand, which is CAT's aftermarket products. Sometimes, or most of the time maybe, availability is the main problem and your what ya got is what you get as they say.
If the parts are available OEM and aftermarket you want to weigh the risk Vs. the cost. If it's 40% cheaper from the aftermarket is it worth it to save the 10% and gamble on blowing your engine? If the part is a non crucial part, a stove pipe, or a door handle it might be worth it to save the money because if that breaks then you just get another one you don't have to replace everything around it.
