the paint is fresh and to find a number would mean stripping the paint off if some one cannot give me a bit of a lead to where I should look, the bloke I brought it off siad his dozer (d4e) part book showed this winch in the back pagesNice looking winch and fair lead but I don't recognize it as US manufactured.
Unusual that there would not be a model number stamped on it somewhere.
