GReat find What does the chain pass thru?? must be a big sheave to keep from binding thanks

We used a snatch block and cable with a chain hooked on the end

Obviously the picture of the trees doesn't have anything to do with this but I don't know how to remove it

LOL I figured that you would say that!

All I can say is you got a deal. I was offered a D6 in ID a few years back, running in fairly good shape. New enough to be all hydraulic. 2500. The problem there was the cost of getting it to MN. The owner was my MIL's BIL. Good guy, he is missed!

I use the reverse of what you do when loading dead iron. I put the block on the center of the tractor being towed, hook the dead end of the cable to the front of the trailer on one side and the other to the tow vehicle which drives along the side the cab of the truck hooked to the trailer on the other side. The machines come up nice and straight and you have doubled your mechanical advantage instead of just changing your angle of pull.

Probably made no difference in your case. Looks like a fair size loader bucket corner showing in the picture. I never seem to have to much horsepower available at the load site.
