That housing belongs on a 977 20Axxxx loader. The loader uses a unique external single lever clutch and pinion engagement lever or optional direct electric start. That isn't going to work on a 9U unless you can come up with the 977 linkage parts.

That must be why he he had the pony motor off of it and had in convertered to electric start. When I bought the dozer the engine was out of it already and they sat in on the ground and water got in it, but the serial number on the block and on the machine is the same. So for some reason he must've got a different housing and put on it. So I bought the d318 I'm going to put in it is an industrial engine and had dry clutch housing on it. I was just going to swap my wet clutch housing over on it and put the pony on it. Anyone know if the parts I need are hard to come by?

Here are the parts you would need.....I'd say they are going to be hard to come by but you never know.
I would think it would be easier to come up with the correct housing.
