I just changed the oil in the 17a and found this metal its aluminum I think I'm hoping its old ive only put 100 hours on it and it works perfectly no weird sounds still has good oil pressure any ideas

sadly that's what i found in my old 7m filters. turned out to be a connecting rod bearing. best check it out, might save the crankshaft.

Yes I would agree with everything that has been said above and yes its not good news, but there is some good news it isnt knocking yet so with any luck you have caught this time and as said hopefully the crank is still spot on and will be a fairly cheap fix
