Nothing yet in south Texas (Feb.11).
I understand I have a short article in this issue.
Maybe that's my problem. They cancelled my subscription.

I talked to a friend of mine that delivers mail. She said that at Christmas time all 3rd class mail had to wait until all packages were delivered. Now 3rd class has to wait for all the phone books to be delivered. She also said that if it is a periodical and they can "see" the month then it will go 2nd class even if it was mail 3rd class. Maybe the magazine should be sent in a clear plastic wrap. The way it is sent now they don't know it is a magazine. If you think about it all most all my magazines are in clear wrap or no wrap at all.

Nothing in NW Kansas today either.
I think someone at the publisher or ACMOC needs to visit with the post office to find out where the bottle neck is. This isn't just a one time event. It happens with every issue. It does not seem like it would be a big deal to check with the PO where the mags are mailed to find out where they go from there.

This is why I think the classifids should be made available online. The magazine was sent out 2 weeks ago and still many of us don't have. All of the good deals in the mag are gone! Western Iron trader had an online version of their classifids which was emailed to you as a secure URL.

George, I think this is once again an area of concern. An awful lot of us don't like having to pay extra to assure a timely delivery. I know it is not the club's fault that the PO can't deliver the 3rd class in a timely manner, but the move to 3rd class was a decision to save money, and mailing 1st class was an option that cost more to the membership (who elected to pay extra for it). Now there are 2 stratas in the club; those that receive the magazine promptly and those that are a little frugal and have to wait. I would suggest that once Media mail is achieved, maybe we do away with the 1st class option so that us peons have just as much an opportunity to take advantage of the parts and machines for sale. I know this may be met with some resistance, but lets be fair. In my opinion, the 1st class delivery is kind of like a bribe to get the ads before everyone else. When I was proofing, I swore I wouldn't take advantage of the ads, and I didn't. In my mind, it wasn't fair.
P.S. Still no magazine

I hope that first class delivery is still an option. No matter what you do some are still going to get their magazine before others. There is no way around that.

I am with Burce raise the cost the 6 dollors and every one will get it first class. That way we will get the magazine about the same. It is only a dollor a copy that is not that much.

Good Tuesday Morning, everyone, from cold Denver, Colorado. No sunshine here. AmTrak just went past on its way to the Moffat Tunnel and points West such as Salt Lake City. What a privilege to enjoy that scene with my first cup of coffee this morning!
We had a board of directors meeting last night by telephone conference call, and I can assure you that everyone on the board has read this thread, multiple times, with interest, keeping up with the comments. We are very anxious about this situation.
The magazine committee, of which I am chairman, will be meeting by telephone conference call Thursday morning (with our President Lee Sorbel participating), and will get this hashed out. We have a number of things to discuss, but a major topic will be the extreme delays in delivery of the magazine. One way or the other, this situation has to be corrected, and it may mean spending more money for proper delivery. All of the comments in this thread will be reviewed, especially the suggestions. If we need a special meeting of the board to submit recommendations to it, for quick action, I can assure you that the board will meet as necessary.
Thanks for your suggestions.
